Trust in me

Been really busy with stuff to blog these past few weeks.
Was however quite upset when I read about what some fellow on line sellers encountered.Missing Buyers!!
They  are fondly (not!!)known as Dead beat buyers!! or MIA buyers.

They are the very people who  place orders promising to pay when the goods arrive and then they do the amazing disappearing act.Might just put that old David Copperfield to shame!!

Some might chalk this down to the naive seller who took that leap and decided to trust the buyer.

After all are we not all taught not to trust easily? That trust needs to be earned ?and even so it  is not  better to just stick to your guns?

I am one of those who love to trust.Have I been burnt before?Yes.Do I continue to trust?Hell Ya!

I love sending out my stuff with the trust that I would certainly get paid in due time.Love working on an unpaid order that I trust will get paid sooner or later.Love working on my stuff that I know that someone else would love!
Has anyone run off with my order you might be wondering?Never.

On the other hand I did come across some disappointing buyers who would place orders and I with my trust will work on them right away so that I can send them out the next day.And then poof!!They disappear. Not a word..not a sound..they are  gone!!No apologies..

That gets really hurtful. All those empty promises and my hard work down the drain.

Do I get mad?For sure.
Do I continue to trust?YES

What is the world without trust really?
Then I ponder who are these other people who purposely put through others through ordeals like this with their deceit.

Was it a compelling reason?

I guess we are never going to get these answers because these people have vanished.Vanished with many of a seller's trust. What are these people like in their daily lives?Pretty much the same if you ask me.
Lying and false promises can become a bad habit to kick. These could be parents, moulders of the new generation*shudder*.

Lesson of the day

If you cannot fulfill a promise have the decency to at least inform. That's the most basic form of courtesy.
At the end of it all you do reap what you sow.

Lets all make this world a better place to live in.There area already things beyond our control like natural disasters that are causing so much pain n turmoil in this world.Let us control what we can..ourselves!You are the boss of yourself.

Spread the love, cheer and trust around! That much we can all do!!

The Day the Giants Walk

While lying in bed restless last night , I could not help but think of the future of handmade bows.
I had many disturbing thoughts race through my mind.Coupled with medicine I think the thoughts went overboard.

In particular I was thinking about Walmart and its effects on the mom n pop's stores. What happened in the USA does mirror what happened here in Singapore as well. With seduction of cost effective and competitively priced goods , the bigger supermarkets effectively managed to bull doze the smaller family run businesses out of the way. After all who doesn't want more bang for their buck?
It will not be long before some giant swoops onto producing and selling bows too.Are bow makers doomed to suffer the same fate?

Already we face a saturated market .There is a bow galore practically everywhere. To stay in the game to produce the best bows is tantamount to one's survival.Bow makers have unleased creativity beyond expectations. Bows have certainly come a long way.

Bow making is an art.Sure anyone could make bows these days by watching you tube. But it does take more than just that.To be able to match colors and sizes of ribbon and to create something so delightful that you are rewarded with  happy squeals of  both buyer (usually the good old mum!)and wearer!!(the modern day little princess!).

It makes my day whenever I am told how excited the child was when she received the bows.I can practically see the gleam in her eyes and that broad broad smile.I savor moments like these.Worth every finger prick and burnt fingers on hot glue!!

Till the next time my friends do remember that the fate of handmade bows lie in your hands.Support your local bow makers!!!

Bow me a Cartoon

I love love! my cartoon themed bows.

What inspired me to create cartoon themed bows? The crazies who live around me;my sisters(adults may i add!), daughter(a mickey n barney lover) and my sons who just love to see me sit down and create:)

I was also noticing that while Hello Kitty and Minnie Mouse had been done to death ,other characters were simply lacking in attention. Not to worry,i have gallantly stepped in to fill out that deficit.

There should be a bow for every little girl's favourite character.Princesses,Powerpuff Girls ,Tom n Jerry..bring it all on!

While most of the cartoon inspired bows are meant for the little ones,I have a growing number of adults who request such cutesy bows(on pins however!).

It's a blast from the past.

Who doesn't love and remember Cookie Monster and the Sesame Street gang?
Heck,we grew up on those characters.Stick them on a pin n go button crazy!

While I pride myself for having started this trend of bows ,it wont be long before other bow makers ride this wave too.Let's just let me have this in writing that I was one of the pioneers..hahhaha

Enjoy the cartoon bows and do drop me an email if there is some other character that you would like either for your little princess or ahem! for your good self!

And Here is to Daring to Dream Once Again!

Are you a Flower Convert?

I love flowers in hair. The easiest way yet to jazz up any outfit.
I know that it takes alot more than guts to just stick one into your hair.
Most of us would willingly put one on our bubs  ,pleased at how great it looks on them .

What about for ourselves? Why the hesitation when its your own head?

Many traditions and customs(hawaiians, some ethnic indians ,brides etc..rattling a few) actually do have women wearing flowers in the hair.
The wearer exudes a sense of confidence and subtle sensuality.

My own family (mum,sisters,cousins...) wear them whenever opportunity arises(which i think is more often than not ).We are probably suckers for compliments*lol*

With lots of varieties available these days, there is one for every outfit.
A no brainer to pulling a look together.Going to a wedding?stick one on.To the beach?stick one on..u get the drift

Having said all...Now would you take up the challenge and be a flower convert?

Here are some pics of the converts i know:)
